What is Pascal Screening
This documentation, including images, videos and text, is accurate as of Version 5.12 of Pascal.
We strive to keep our documentation up to date with each release to ensure it remains a reliable resource for our users. However, given the dynamic nature of our software development, there might be instances where changes introduced in subsequent versions are not immediately reflected in this documentation. We encourage users to refer to the latest release notes and to use the feedback mechanism for any discrepancies or requests for clarification.
Pascal is Vartion’s unique compliance and risk decision support platform to assist in remaining compliant with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements. Pascal is specifically designed for financial institutions and other companies within and outside the financial sector. Thanks to Artificial Intelligence (AI) based techniques and self-learning, Pascal evolves systematically along with constantly changing laws and regulations.
Pascal uses Vartion’s powerful search engine and AI techniques to analyse a wide variety of data and identify suspected compliance issues. These data sources include sanction and PEP lists, company data in corporate registers, and media data. The search engine is fast and minimises the identification of false positive hits. The AI techniques allow Pascal to extract relevant information from sources such as media articles through Natural Language Processing.
Working with Pascal is easy thanks to its intuitive interface and structured workflow. All information regarding an entity is collected in a Case, and cases which are related can be grouped in a Client. Multiple users can work together on a case and managers can gain insight into their progress. Through continuous monitoring users will remain up to date on any new information regarding their clients, and proper actions can be taken if needed. Since Pascal logs every search and decision, compliance managers and auditors can obtain full assurance that the correct screening procedures have been followed and decisions have a sound basis.
Pascal allows its users to be sure and be right about decision made during the KYC and CDD processes.
