How to change your media filters

This documentation, including images, videos and text, is accurate as of Version 5.12 of Pascal.

We strive to keep our documentation up to date with each release to ensure it remains a reliable resource for our users. However, given the dynamic nature of our software development, there might be instances where changes introduced in subsequent versions are not immediately reflected in this documentation. Some media filters can be set in the Policies sectionpage in the Screening Settings of Pascal. You can find these settings by going tofollowing the below steps:

1. Click on your initials in the top right corner.
2. Select Settings sectionbesides ofyour Pascal,Pascal selectingenvironment's name.
3. Navigate to the Policies tabpage andin scrollthe downScreening tosection.
4. In the Media filters cardcard, atadditional themedia bottomfilters ofcan thebe Policiesaltered.

Here, several settings can be altered to your desire:

• Media age filter - can be changed to show search all articles in the Media source. Or there are options to only search media articles published in the last year, last 2 years, last 3 years, last 4 years, up to the last 10 years.
• Only show adverse media - can be turned on or off. When turned off, also low risk media articles are shown. If this setting is turned on, only adverse media is shown.
• Only show negative sentiment - can be turned on or off. When turned off, articles with negative and positive sentiment are shown. If this setting is turned on, only media articles with negative sentiment is shown.
• Only show fully supported languages - can be turned on or off. When turned off, all articles in our database will be searched on. When turned on, only articles originally written in one of our 11 supported languages (English, Spanish, German, Italian, Frensh,French, Russian, Turkish, Portugese,Portuguese, Arabic, Romanian and Dutch) will be searched on.

Keep in mind that our classifiers like industry, adverse media, locations, companies and persons are only partially working in media articles originally written in languages other than our 11 supported languages.

When the settings are set up so partially supported articles will be searched, partially supported articles can be found in the Media source section in the resolving panel. Then the Partial support tag will be visible to inform you that the language isn't fully supported. When you open the hit, the following text will be displayed to explain the partial support: "The original language of this article is not fully supported. Adverse events and industries are disabled, and entities found can be of lesser quality."
